The National memorial Arboretum near Lichfield was the venue for the first Ride To The Wall (RTTW) event to commemorate the servicemen and women who have given their lives in the many conflicts around the world. 3000 motorcycles, mainly Harley Davidsons, arrived at the site in a huge motorcade to pay their respects.
Another corporate shoot for
a brochure. This time it was night shots of vehicles in Derby
for a Midland's based company involved in public transport. Shooting
at night is one way of adding impact to otherwise ordinary subjects,
but it requires an experienced professional photographer to produce
good results. The Prince's Trust called on Trevalan Photography to take some pictures of Jacqui Smith M.P., the current Home Secretary when she came to see the work that the Prince's Trust is doing in Redditch. Jacqui Smith is the M.P. for Redditch, so this was a chance to meet local people.
Conservative party leader David Cameron paid a visit to The National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield in Staffordshire to commemorate VJ Day. Paul Shinton from Trevalan was in attendance, taking pictures on behalf of the Arboretum for their website. Mr Cameron, as befits a Member of Parliament and prospective future Prime Minister provided us with plenty of photo opportunities.
This client, working in the education sector, required some generic images of students for an examination brochure. We chose a high school in the West Midlands to photograph a corporate style set of pictures. Unlike the usual press and P.R. work, in this case the subjects needed to be ignoring the photographer to get the desired effect.
The weather brightened up,
so this was a chance to get out in the Shropshire countryside
to complete an assignment. Thankfully it's not all corporate
Press and P.R. work, and away from the industrial conurbations,
the Midlands has some beautiful landscapes and many long distance
footpaths. This shot, showing the path as it winds down from
Brown Clee Hill towards Titterstone Clee is very atmospheric. Falkland's War hero Simon Weston was guest speaker at an event held by Flagship Consulting at the Hogarth Hotel in Solihull. Simon, who served in the Welsh Guards, gave an emotive and very moving speech about his life after the terrible events in Bluff Cove in 1982. Paul Shinton was duty photographer on the day, and Simon graciously posed for some pictures afterwards. |
